Position Title : Project Assistant III

Duration of contract : Three months
General Functions:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Program Manager, Counter Trafficking Unit and the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (COM), the incumbent will provide technical support in the development and implementation of the counter-trafficking law enforcement project in Indonesia. In particular, he/she will:
1. Assist in the implementation of the G/TIP funded, “Strengthening the Capacity of Criminal Justice Agencies to Combat TIP as well as to Protect TIP Victims in Indonesia.” The incumbent’s duties includes but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate with the Indonesian National Police, Attorney General’s Office, and Judiciary regarding all project activities.
- Develop training materials, modules, etc, in coordination with Consultant
- Coordinate and develop training seminars for INP, AGO and Judiciary.
- Work closely with Consultant and Working Group to update and revise Guidelines
- Act as a trainer for training seminars for INP, AGO, and Judiciary.
- Identify trainers that have the appropriate expertise in the topics to be disseminated.
- Provide inputs to the preparation and drafting of project progress and completion reports for submission to donor agency.
- Coordinate with and guide the Administrative and Finance Project Assistant assigned to the project to ensure that all administrative and logistics arrangements for all project activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Liaise and coordinate with all relevant government agencies to ensure that effective working relationship and information sharing channels with IOM are maintained.
- Provide inputs to the development of a project proposal for an expansion of project activities.
2. Draft correspondence letters, briefing notes, as requested.
3. Examine the feasibility and merits of projects and measures implement to combat trafficking and formulate appropriate recommendations.
4. Provide technical assistance to other IOM projects as required.
5. Assist in matter of funding-raising and donors’ relations.
6. Undertake duty travels as required by Program Manager.
7. Represent IOM in coordination meetings with relevant organizations and government agencies and ensure that the minutes of meetings are prepared in a timely manner, when requested by the program manager.
8. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Desirable qualifications:
Diploma in development work, programme management, or law, or alternatively, combined experience and training in any of these field. Five years of progressive experience working with project/programme activities. Experience working in a foreign funded project, particularly one involving combating human trafficking, is a distinct advantage.
Proficient in computer applications. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with minimum supervision and work effectively in a team.
Thorough knowledge of English.
