RDB Consulting is a premier Oracle database administration support and maintenance contractor. Our outsourcing services cover all aspects of Oracle database administration, not only vanilla Oracle, but also Oracle Applications as well as other third party products such as SAP, JD Edwards, BAAN etc.
RDB operates in South Africa servicing areas such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and others. Due to the expanding operation RDB Consulting requires the service of :

Oracle Database Administrator

As a database administrator, you will be responsible to provide DBA support for Oracle Database. Responsibilities will include software installations, performance tuning, performing backup and restores, and working with the application developers and application support staff to resolve day to day issues.

Key Skills
Bachelors Degree (preferably in Computer Science, Math or Physics)
Minimum 5 years Oracle DBA experience
Solid understanding of Oracle 10g.
RAC knowledge would be an advantage
Knowledge of UNIX, Linux and Windows operating systems
Ability to support development and production environments
Disaster Recovery planning and execution
Excellent interpersonal skills, team player.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral


For the right candidate, RDB will obtain the work permits and provide flights and accommodation. Salary will depend on experience and knowledge.
